Recently I learned the value of using templates for creating a new website. Even more interesting is how two different organizations or in the case below two different schools can pick the same template. And the outcome is unique to each. Both of these projects taught me a great deal about looking a basic template and turning it into something vastly different then the original. While maintaining the basic structure, creating a fun and interesting site. Photoshop skills were a must for this project as was thinking on about things on the fly. Both of these projects allowed me to really sit back and think about the various ways to design a site, while coming up with a look that clearly represents the organizations I was working with.
My goal is to continue to improve my web design skills, come up with new and creative ways to create a website for clients in the future. The key is not to be afraid of trying new things, looking for and trying new techniques that allows me to continue to grow as a web designer.
Several years ago one of my supervisors got me hooked in the Graghic Design field. What started out as a little fun to do at work for those in our organization, turned into an every growing network of those coming to me to design coins, flyers, programs and posters. I have since takent those challenges and continued to refine my technique and style. There are times I am so absorbed into a project I often have to be dragged to the dinner table. This is just a side issue for something I really enjoy doing.
